Control Panel/Administrative Area

In the administrative area of your site you may set up pop accounts, e–mail aliases, password protected directories, view your web site statistics and more:

When you first log in there is a popup window with links to a Quick Start Guide and Help to explain some of the features.

You may need to add an exception to your security settings to excess your control panel.


POP (e-mail) Account Settings

For clients on our main servers:
  • Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomainname.com*
    Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomainname.com
  • Outgoing server port may be 25 or 26*
  • login: email@domainname.com
  • pw: password
  • Within the Outgoing server options, select "Log on to incoming mail server before sending mail."
  • Select: "Outgoing mail server requires authentication"

For clients on our database/e-commerce servers:
  • Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomainname.com*
    Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomainname.com
  • Outgoing server ports: 587 or 25*
  • login: email@domainname.com
  • pw: password
  • Within the Outgoing server options, select "Log on to incoming mail server before sending mail."
  • Select: "Outgoing mail server requires authentication"

For clients on our secondary database/e-commerce servers:
  • Outgoing Server (smtp): mail.yourdomainname.com*
  • Incoming Server (pop3): mail.yourdomainname.com
  • login: email@domainname.com
  • pw: password
  • Outgoing server (SMTP): 587*
  • Within the Outgoing server options, select "Log on to incoming mail server before sending mail."
  • Select: "Outgoing mail server requires authentication"

*Some ISP's (Internet Server Providers) require you to use their outgoing mail servers. In this case you will have to contact your ISP for outgoing mail server settings.


Web Based E-mail

For clients on our main servers:
  • http://yourdomainname.com/webmail
  • click on mail client of your choice

For clients on our database/e-commerce servers:
  • http://webmail.yourdomainname.com/

For clients on our secondary database/e-commerce servers:
  • http://mail.yourdomainname.com/
  • click on IMP-mail client



Common E-mail Issues Explained


Undeliverable mail
This is a bounced e-mail message. The most common error messages are:

  • User unknown
    What it means: Incorrect address in the username portion of the address.

    Make sure you have correctly specified the portion of the address before the "@".

  • Host unknown
    What it means: Incorrect address in the domain or top-domain portions of the address.

    Make sure you have correctly specified the portion of the address after the "@"

  • Network unreachable
    What it means: Gateway limitations or problems with the network backbone.

    Recheck e-mail address, retry another time.
  • Connection timed out
    What it means: Software problem communicating with the destination mail server.

    Check connection, verify e-mail configuration.

  • Connection refused
    What it means: Problem with the destination mail server. Contact administrator of the destination mail server.
